A typical morning, for me, begins with calling or texting my friends, family, or colleagues - to check on them, share some banter or vent about things bothering us. That done, I switch to work mode with an easy and open mind, ready to take on things as they come.
It was not always like this, though.
Hardwired into believing that leaders should be stoic, relentless, and fearless, my leadership ideology revolved around infallibility. Mornings were a power rush of emails, calls and reports – asking tough questions and demanding urgent answers.
